At the start of the week, we welcomed a new child to Bubbles. Wishing him and his family a warm welcome as he settles into the kindergarten group.

On Tuesday the children had their forest day. They enjoyed collecting seeds from different trees and learning to identify the different seeds and match them with the correct trees and leaves.

Tuesday was also our Halloween celebration. The children looked wonderful in their costumes. We had a fun dance party and enjoyed some Halloween themed snacks in the afternoon together.

In English this week, we have learnt the songs, ‘The Itsy Bitsy Spider’ and ‘Five Little Pumpkins’. The children enjoyed acting out the songs, by being spiders and climbing up the playhouse ladder and being “flushed” down the pole. Or being the five little pumpkins and acting out the sentences in the song.

At the end of the week, the kettle accidentally set of the fire alarm, which gave us an impromptu opportunity to practice our fire drill. The children did a great job of staying calm, walking to our emergency location by the church and taking attendance. We have been discussing this topic in previous weeks and a scheduled practice will be coming up soon. It was great to see that the children already remember well what to do.

The end of the week also had a fun visit from the children who went off to school this year. It was great to see them back in the kindergarten and hear how school was going and what they missing, what they loved at school.
