This week we had a short theme thinking about England, London and Buckingham Palace. In morning circle we learnt a poem by AA Milne ‘They’re changing guard at Buckingham Palace.’ The children had the opportunity to make bunting to decorate Kindergarten. On Wednesday morning, we baked scones and made elderflower cordial. In the afternoon we had a ‘Tea Party’ to celebrate the Queen’s birthday with elderflower cordial, cucumber sandwiches and freshly baked scones with strawberry jam. In Zumba we learnt a new dance to ‘Kings and Queens’ (Axa Mava).
The preschool children practice writing numbers, looking at the differences between the English and German way. We also recapped all the letters of the alphabet and sorted them into alphabetical order.
On Tuesday we had a wonderful morning with Sandra at the forest. Sandra showed the children some different bird’s nests and eggs and the children tried to guess which birds they belonged to. It was really interesting to see just how different the nests were both in shape and size as well as building materials used.
