This week we started to think about our Faschings celebration and painted huge pictures of all the characters from ‘Room on the Broom’. We are looking forward to seeing which character everyone will dress up as for our party! We also learnt a song telling the story of ‘Room on the Broom’.

In morning circle we practiced making a number 6 with a skipping rope. We then walked over the rope, thinking about how we draw that numeral.

The children all had the opportunity to make a woolen heart for Valentines day. Some super concentrations and fine motor control, well done everyone!

The preschool children learnt the letter ‘S’, we found objects that start with that letter and checked how many letters we can remember.

At the playground we found lots of twigs and branches that had been blown to the ground during the storm. When we looked closely, we found little buds had started to grow. We collected some from different trees and brought them back to Kindergarten where we used magnifying glasses to take an even closer look.

Faschings Theme

This year, the theme chosen by the children will be ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson. Characters to dress up as include a witch, cat, dog, frog, bird or dragon. Have fun making costumes with your child, we are looking forward to seeing them all on our Faschings Party.
