Newsletter 15.12.17

Dear Parents,

This week we started our Christmas theme. We have been learning new songs: Jingle Bells (in German and English), Lied vom Licht and Five Gingerbread Men Lying in a Tray.

In our morning circle, we learnt the letters 'l' and 'f'. We practiced reading numbers, counting and simple subtraction using the gingerbread men. The children also enjoyed opening the doors on their Advent houses and talking about the pictures they have drawn.

The children baked biscuits on Monday. On Thursday P. read a Rapunzel while children children ate the biscuits and drank Kinderpunch.

Thank you so much for your lovely birthday wishes and generous gifts. We had a wonderful birthday week!

        Enjoy your weekend!

Lied vom Licht

Jingle Bells

Dashing through the snow, on a one-horse open sleigh,

Over the fields we go, laughing all the way.

Bells on bob-tail ring, making spirits bright,

Oh what fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight.

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way!

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way!

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle bells, jingle bells,

A day or two ago, the story I must tell.

I went out in the snow, and on my back I fell!

A gent was riding by in a one-horse open sleigh.

He laughed as I was lying there but quickly drove away!

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way!

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way!

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle bells, jingle bells,

Five Gingerbread Men

Five Gingerbread Men lying in a tray,

One jumped up and ran away.

Shouting “Catch me! Catch me! Catch me if you can!

I run really fast, I’m the Gingerbread Man.

The Gingerbread Man, the Gingerbread Man

I run really fast, I’m the Gingerbread Man.”

Four Gingerbread Men lying in the tray…

Three Gingerbread Men lying in the tray…

Two Gingerbread Men lying in the tray…

One Gingerbread Men lying in the tray…

No Gingerbread Men lying in the tray.

They all jumped up and ran away.

Oh how I wish they had stayed with me to play,

Next time I’ll eat them up before they run away!

The Gingerbread Men, the Gingerbread Men

Next time I’ll eat them up before they run away!

Badumbadum…

'X' Song

X, x, take an x-ray

X, x, take an x-ray

X, x, take an x-ray

An x-ray of my hand!

'Y' Song

I like to eat, eat, eat

Yoghurt and bananas.

I like to eat, eat, eat

Yoghurt and bananas.

Y, y, y, y, y!
