Welcome back, we wish you all a happy new year! Our theme this week was ‘Snow’. We enjoyed going out to the park and Theresienwiesen to play in the snow, sledge and build snowmen. We also used the microscope to look closely at snow as it melted. In morning circle, we learnt the letter ‘e’, sang our new song and found objects that started with that letter. Our theme this week was ‘Christmas Trees’. In morning circle we ordered trees by size and added sparkly decorations as we practiced counting to 10. We learnt three new songs: ‘Morgen, Kinder, wird’s was geben’, ‘When Santa got stuck up the chimney’ and ‘The Gingerbread Man’. The children had the opportunity to make some lovely Christmas trees using lolly sticks and talked about triangles. They also used coloured paper to make trees and had to cut the strips shorter every time....

Our theme this week was ‘St. Nikolaus’. In morning circle we shared the story of St Nikolaus and talked about how we can help each other. The children made some beautiful stars, St. Nikolaus pictures and snowmen to decorate Kindergarten. We practiced counting to 10, ordering numbers and thinking about if a number is more than or less than another number. Our theme this week was ‘Giving’, in Morning Circle we shared the gifts we had packed in our shoeboxes and on Thursday we took them all to the local school. We were all proud to share the things we had chosen to give as presents. This week we learnt the phoneme ‘b’. We practiced writing the letter and finding objects that start with that phoneme (sound). Our theme this week was thanksgiving. In morning circle, we share the story of the first American Thanksgiving and talked about all the different things we can be thankful for. As a whole group, we made our Thanksgiving Tree by adding a leaf everyday to share something we are thankful for. This week we learnt the phoneme ‘ck’ and the letters ‘C’ and ‘K’. We had a wonderful start to the week celebrating St. Martin’s at the Theresienwiese. During the day, we were very busy baking tasty Goose bread and flapjack to share with everyone. This week our theme was, ‘St. Martin’s’. In morning circle we shared a story about St. Martin. We also practiced all our songs including two new English songs; ‘Tiny Lanterns’ and ‘Sparkling Lights’, and a German song ‘Sankt Martin’. This week our theme was, ‘Sharing’. We talked about ways we can share and how it makes us feel when people share with us. In morning circle we played some rhyming games, matching pictures that rhyme.
